Do Not Update To iOS 6.0.2 If You Want To Eventually Jailbreak Your iPhone 5 Or iPad Mini

Do Not Update To iOS 6.0.2 If You Want To Eventually Jailbreak Your iPhone 5 Or iPad Mini

Hopefully if you are reading this article I have caught you in time before you updated your iPhone 5 or iPad Mini to the latest iOS 6.0.2 firmware.
It is fairly common knowledge in the Jailbreaking community that if you would like to Jailbreak an iOS device, you shouldn’t update to a new firmware version unless one of the Jailbreak developers gives the go ahead. This is definitely the case with iOS 6.0.2.
If you would like to eventually Jailbreak your iPhone 5 or iPad Mini with the solution both the iPhone Dev-Team and Chronic Dev-Team are working on, then you will want to avoid iOS 6.0.2 for the time being. Hacker MuscleNerd sent out a tweet moments ago stating that Jailbreakers “should always avoid updates (like iOS 6.0.2 being offered to some devices today) to improve the chances of using any future Jailbreaking solution.”
iOS 6.0.2 Untethered Jailbreak WARNING
As Comex mentioned, it is unlikely that anyone will release a Jailbreak that doesn’t work with the latest firmware version, but regardless, if it does happen to be only released for the iOS 6.0 firmware, you would be pretty mad at yourself for updating. Even though it is cliche, the old say “it is better to be safe than sorry” definitely applies here.
Do yourself a favor and don’t update to iOS 6.0.2 or any future updates until a Jailbreaking solution is released or we are at least given the go ahead by one of the dev team members. Now that you are educated, do a favor to the Jailbreaking community and tell someone else waiting for a Jailbreak this same message.
